I had the deep fried turkey about a year ago. It was great. I was told it was a Cajun dish. My friends had an out door gas line set up to heat the pot. You fill a large pot with cooking oil. Heat it until boiling. Submerge the turkey in the boiling oil. When the thermometer pops out the turkey is done. It cooks very fast...much more so than in an oven. It is great with corn on the cob, baked potato and sour cream and a salad.
