Hi Lori,

I thought that I would take a second to reply to your inquiry regarding the Certification Test. As a member of the Education Committee, it makes me happy to know that you are considering taking the test. It is comprised of 100 multiple choice questions, all of which were created by the Education Committee from numerous resources. A list of some of them is available on the NALTEA website. Jeanne Johnson has written an excellent article in this month's newsletter, which outlines some of the challenges we faced in creating this test, as does my president's message this month.

We will be offering the test via testing centers, although we have not yet determined how often it will be offered. You have raised an excellent question regarding the fee as it relates to a failing grade. Although we have not placed a limit on the number of times you can take the test, we have not yet discussed any price reduction if the test is taking within a reasonable amount of time. It was not brought up until now. We will certainly discuss that and I will be happy to get back with you as soon as possible.

I look forward to seeing you at the conference!

Mary
