In most cases I always find myself in agreement with you. However, in terms of the "flower children"... " the Haight/Ashbury Scene"... " Summer of Love"..."the Days of Rage" ...I most vehemently disagree. I was part of the "Movement". It was as a reaction to a government that was unresponsive to the people. The period left me radicalized for the rest of my life. We lived under a period of bad government during the Nixon administration. Hopefully it will not be repeated.
I regret nothing of what I learned by being tear gassed at the March on the Pentagon for my participation in anti-war protests of the Viet Nam era nor in my civil rights work to effectuate voter registry in the southern states while black churches were being bombed by the KKK. If you wish to make apologies for yourself feel free to do so. However, please do not make any for me or my generation.
