I have been speaking with every Recorder in each county I physically travel to discuss the limiting of online access. This may be yet another reason for state licensing for abstractors, as we have in MN, but, unfortunately, not enforced (like many other things in MN, but that is another story). My suggestion to each Recorder, and most of them agree with keeping the abstracting work "at home", is that since there is an application for each county's online access, that the subscription access should be limited to MN LICENSED abstractors. I am pushing hard here in MN to keep our online access to legitimate home-grown abstractors.
