After viewing several of the posts regarding the issue of sponsorships, I would like an opportunity to address the issue myself.
The BIG problem I see with accepting sponsorships is that if we let a large company, for example, a major title insurer, foot the bill for our conference, said company may think they are OWED something (beyond an "honorable mention") for being our "sugar daddy". NO company is going to put up money for an event like this without strings attached (and they WON'T respect us in the morning!)
Being the fiercely independent entrepreneur that I am, it goes against my grain to accept outside help. In my considered opinion, the price is just too high.
But, that's just me.
