We got an email from Wachovia Settlement Services, telling us that if we wanted to continue as a abstractor-vendor, we had to visit a linked site for ValuAmerica.com, and register to work through ValuAmerica's ValuNetXPS system. In reading the lengthy Access Agreement, it seems that vendors are then expected to register a credit card against which ValuAmerica can charge the vendors varying fees for uploading work products to them, ie., full search $6. I am appalled that anyone would expect me to pay for the pleasure of working for them! Considering how our fees are being hammered down anyhow, paying to get the work product to them is absurd. Posting a credit card on their unknown site is a scary thing, too. Has anyone else received and made a decision about Wachovia? I'm very tempted to "opt out" of this service. If no one falls for it, they will have to find another way to do business.
