Ditto all the comments as stated by the others (in an effort to save space - not to say I don't have many feelings about this as I too feel the crunch). There is only one thing I would add that may help keep some sanity and that is to try to communicate this situation to your children, especially the moving part. As a child my Daddy worked the factories too and we went through numerous bad times, especially in the 80's and early 90's when for us kids (3 or us) we were pulled from our schools and put in the public system where going to school was a fashion show and those with out the right brand were ridiculed and devastated. In an effort to spare us the pain or maybe they were embarrassed to talk with us, my parents never really sat down and explained the situation to us and that caused A LOT of family friction. Looking back on it during these times I see how hard the struggle was and had they explained - in terms we could understand of course - we may have been able to understand the situation better and come to terms with the fact that we could have the cool clothes, etc., instead of lashing out like the terrible children we were (not really all that bad but I remember saying things I still regret). Love and Faith prevailed in the end and we made it thru just as I know you and your family will. Reaching out to those that love you is the best medicine. Strength comes from many different places and in this time we all need as much strength as we can muster. Keep your head up and great things will come to you in the end too.
I truly believe in "what comes around, goes around" and those that speak ill will be "rewarded" in the end. I am sure they will expect great rewards and will be completely surprised by the true "reward" they will receive.
As for loyalty....there appears to be none in this business unless you belong to an AfBA which you and I know is part of the problem in this business. I am not sure they affect abstractors but as a Title Agent it is almost impossible to keep any business unless you offer AfBA - numerous clients left us because we don't believe in jacking up the buyers and sellers prices to pay the "partners".
I am done rambling :) Peace and Love to you all.
