Have any of you or has anyone you know actually bought this info? Is so, was it worth it? I know someone who recently spent $10,000.00+ on it and I am so upset about it. I watched the last 1/2 of Beck's infommercial last night ($39.95 program and buy a house for $300). Beck makes everything sound so easy and that is what this person fell for. While I am not so knowledgable about purchasing property at tax sales, I know that you can do what he says yourself for far less, even free as long as you have money to buy the property at the auction. Beck's so called "vault" of tax properties, which he charges an additional $40 a month for - that info is available online in most cases and if not, at the tax commissioner's office for free.
I told this person that you must do a title search regardless of the "superior" position of county tax liens. (Unknown heirs, etc.) Though a mortgage could potentially be wiped out by a tax foreclosure, wouldn't an FTL still take precedence? I know when I have a tax deed in my chain of title, I go back further and I report everything. I can't think of any company I do work for that would accept anything less.
My county and others in GA are cracking down on past due taxpayers, mostly on builders and developers who have left their properties unkempt since the slowdown. (Clear cut land, PVC poles marking lots, roads, etc.) There clearly is opportunity to buy property at a cheap price. But does one need to spend $10 K for a "how-to"? Are Beck's so called "tax foreclosure experts" attorney's and if not, aren't they giving legal advice?
Thanks for any input; this is really bothering me.
