If anyone is contact by this attorney, out of Lexington, SC, do not work for him. He does not pay. I was called a month ago to update a title for him. He said he was having trouble finding someone to do this for him. (I wonder why). I told him up front that I do not update another abstractor's notes, and I would be glad to do a current owner search for him. Since I did not have to make copies, I cut my fee $25.00 and charged him $60.00 plus $15.00 mileage. He called the next day and said my bill was too high. I told him to pay the bill. At any rate, I recieved an unsigned check last week in the amount of $35.00, which I returned with a hot letter telling him to pay the $75.00 I billed him. I told him I intended to contact the S.C. Supreme Court. Well, I recieved another check for $35.00 with a nasty letter from him accusing me of "bait and switch". I was going to send this check back to him with a nice note across the face of the check. I ended up cashing the check. Hey, $35.00 is $35.00. The attorney is unethical and should not be practicing law at all. Just a warning for everyone.
Have a Merry Christmas!!!!!
