Ameristar is actually a vendor manager.
Ameristar works for lots of mortgage/title companies.
As we all know at this point, Ameristar is circling the drain.
If we find out who the title companies are that Ameristar supplies work to, will it do any good to contact the underwriters involved and complain about non-payment?
I say "NO" (and have been arguing with my beloved AlphaGeek for 10 minutes) because the underwriter has a relationship with the TITLE COMPANY, not Ameristar, and as long as the title company is doing what they're supposed to do, the underwriter isn't going to get involved by saying "this vendor manager isn't paying the abstractors; don't do business with them anymore."
Said beloved Alpha disagrees.
What say you all?
