Sacramento, California based Pacific Corporate & Title Services (PCTS) requested document copies from me in November, which I pulled as an out-of-pocket outlay personally and sent the copies to them (also an out-of-pocket expense of my own). I billed them in November '08 for the cost without any mark-up as I was personally familiar with their owners from many years before (my sister worked with them in the title industry). They refused to reimburse my good will and demanded a W-9 before they would reimburse me for any amount. In February, I sent them a late note with a 10%, reasonable late charge that they complained about and refused to pay the penalty thereon, throwing it back in my face, as if to prove that no good deed goes unpunished. They are now doing business with one of my associates directly, and paying far more than my willingness to give them this stuff at-cost would incur for them; Weird, bad business practices in my opinion.
Anyone else have a problem with their charity biting them in the back end?
