Giving the customer what they want isn't always a good idea when the customer is a loan officer and you are a closing agent being asked to help make a "creative" loan possible. I just ran across an article written by a closing agent while she awaited sentencing for the role she played in a scheme to report non-existent liens. You may know some of the players in this drama or someone just like them.
Jill Lehn's reflections should be required reading for anyone involved with title work who might consider getting creative with the records in order to bend to the customer's will.
