Jay,
Ever heard of Public Retriever Record Network (PRRN)?
They group of doc ret/UCC/Ct researchers. Well, anyhow they have dispute resolution process. It not the greatest, but better than nothing.
It works like this if a fellow member does not pay, does poor work. The dispute procees attempts to work the problem btwn the parties. If it fails PRRN can and will remove the problem individual/company from their membership. Meaning blackballs them and warns other members of thier poor business dealings.
Now, I am suggesting that if we continue to see the same companies or people keep popping up as not paying thier SOT members invoices. We as a group should ban together by not refusing to do thier work or take thier work, until they pay outstanding invoice from SOT members. I would like to see some type of process in place where a fellow SOT member can have some avenues open to them besides collections, and courts.
I am sure if all of sudden Home Connect see that fellow SOT members stop doing any work for them, or returns the work or wont take them unless "pre-pay". They may wake up and start paying thier bills.
I know it a crapshoot, but you are right if we ban together a group. We are stronger and better educated about who are good clients and the dead beats!
Just my 10cents worth!
