Yes... there is no doubt about that. Government involvement always tends to expand and they do get a little carried away sometimes. But regardless of whether you think its a good idea or not, it is not socialism. There is certainly a good argument that the new regulations are terrible (though something needed to be done). But, the people shouting about socialism are really distracting the public away from the real issue - how to solve our financial crisis.
