Back in February, Fidelity ordered Lawyer's Title and Commonwealth Title to terminate the contracts of thousands of agents whose remittances were below some undisclosed minimum level. For many of those agents, myself included, the termination letter was a breach of contract as our contracts had no minimum remittance requirement nor did it have any "without cause" termination clause.
I just received a call from one their auditors to schedule an exit audit. I refused stating that until they terminate my contract in a legal manner, I am still an agent and will not turn over any remaining policy jackets, etc. I encourage others to do the same. What they are doing is WRONG! I am licensed by the state, I comply with my continuing education requirements and I have a valid contract. I have a RIGHT to ply my trade and they do not have a right to deny me.
I'd be interested in hearing from others who are also in this situation.
