[-] Title Companies - Eric Mattson/WV (2 replies)

I'm wondering if I could get any help on what title companies around West Virginia/Ohio there are to seek employment with.

I've been abstracting full title searches and oil & gas ownership for the past two years in NY, PA and WV.  I fell in love with my job and decided to make a long term plan to become independant.  However, the oil & gas business dried up quickly here and now I am researching my next step, with a TON of help from this website and the forums.  I've seen great advice from people to seek employment from a title company and/or title attorney before becoming independant, and I tend to agree.  I am confident in my abstracting abilities, having done plenty of West Virginia "nasty title" work, but I don't know the business side of real estate abstracting.

I've gone to every title attorney in my area with my resume, but they all seem to do the searches themselves.  My next problem (that I need help with) is who are the title companies that employ abstractors around here?  I am willing to move anywhere in Ohio (my home state), but I'm presently living near the border in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

I'd really appreciate any help on my job search, and I would like to thank this website for all of the information I've gotten from it so far!

Thanks,  Eric
