You are likely going to take a course that will cost you a good deal of pocket change or more.  I'm not sure about your state, but in California does not regulate such "coutesy signing agents", except, naturally, that you'd need to be a duly commissioned notary public.  You might Google the idea, check Wikipedia and a few other places and learn that you don't need a high priced course to do this.  A business card, if allowed by your state law, and a some good self-advocacy might be just what you need to get going.

On the other hand, a third-party wall certificate looks spiffy in an office, and sometimes comes with the added benefit of giving you some free online exposure through the certifying firm's network of agents.  As a West Coast comparitive we've charged $150-$200 per escrow closing depending on the distance of travel and whether there is a prior reservation or an urgent / immediate need.

Look around before you pay someone to certify you, and consider holding your own training course through your own business, and issuing yourself a certificate.  It's no more valid or invalid, at least in this state, than any other bunch of jackasses taking your money and explaining things to you that you should already be familiar with.

  Just a thought.
