Hi to all.
My mom and I have been up in Canada moving my elderly aunt into a nursing home. She is 93, and this will be her last stop... A very impressive home, btw.
I packed up her personal papers, and read them last week, back in Maine. Her father had a title search performed by The Registrar of Deeds--Charlotte County on our family's "Stone House". This is where my mom and aunt grew up. The search was dated 10-17-1935. The property was searched from pre-1807 to 1917. (this is when my great-grandparents acquired title.)
Final paragraph of the 3 page abstract:: This is a full record of the property as it appears on the Records. The fee for searching and making the report is $ 1.50. Yours very truly, H.W. Smith, Registrar.
There were 13 conveyances during this time frame. All for a buck and a half, Canadian dollar.
Just a piece of title history.............
