Michigan is just plain weird.  I did some work up there and the taxes are crazy!!!  I still can't believe how many "work" from home because there is no office to go to.

George, have ya'll become prostitutes or something????  You say you sell your time but I have to agree with Franco - it is not just time.  And as for the lender or vendor telling me what county the property is located in a complete farse.  I tell them, especially when it is wrong.  The only thing you need to know really to begin a search is a property address.  All this chat about incomplete/incorrect info is ridiculous as you are the examiner.  It is your job to exam the records including making sure you are going to the right county.  OMG - very frustrated that everyone thinks the information provided should be 100 % accurate.  IT IS YOUR JOB!!!!  IT IS WHAT YOU DO!!!!

Nickle and diming your clients is pitiful.  I can't believe you manage to keep any, no wonder they don't pay you.  I am not sure I would either at this point.  I feel your pain about having to redo others work as I do it all the time.  Just had one today tell me the recision date is wrong and they expect me to contact the borrowers, explain the problem with no explanation to me, have the borrower come in and re-sign a few docs, ship it back to them and fund the loan tomorrow instead of today.   ALL FOR FREE MIND YOU!!!!  I get nothing extra even tho it will take several minutes/hours depending on the crap I have to sift thru as well as a fed ex bill.  But, I do it as a favor to the Broker because they are my client and I want to help them so that they continue to choose me over the other guy.  It is customer service - not the other way around.  There are so many examiners to choose from, as Jennifer said it is easy to redirect the business elsewhere.

Good Luck my friend in the New Year.
