How interesting this conversation has become!  Interpretation.  Yep.  I think it boils down to how we interpret what we read.  When I first read Watchdogs posting, I thought to myself - thank goodness someone elses business has been slow this month.  It also re-energized me to use this slow time wisely - look for more business opportunities, reorganize the office, make more contacts, catch up on reading material. Do all the things that you have been wanting to get done but just have not had the down time. Planning for tomorrow is not a negative thing.  I took it as if Watchdog was sharing how "others" were handling this time.

Reading Jessicas post inspired me. Business is good for her and why is that, I thought. She is a very positive thinker, therefore she is one who continually sees the glass half full. Because of this thinking, she continually strives to improve her business - obviously it is working for her.  I did not "interpret" Watchdogs comments as being negative - but being a reflection of what is going on in the world.

I also feel everything in moderation.  Refering to "all media" as terroists can be construde as "generalizing" though, Jessica.  I think keeping abreast of what is going on in the world via all forms of the "media"  (print/TV) is vital in any business - it is what you do with the learned information that is important. Yes, there is a lot of garbage out there but you need to weed through that garbage in order to grow.

Whenever you post something, there is a risk that someone will interpret your words not they way they were intended but for anyone to stop posting because of being scrutinized because of their words/thoughts....thats just crazy.  Post away and if your words are mis-interpreted, defend what you have written or reclarify your post.

Having controversal / educating / thought provocing posts are what keep sites such as this one of interest. I enjoy seeing all sides of conversation otherwise we would live in a very boring, robotic world.

We are all unique writers, too.  Some like to "call a spade a spade" , shoot from the hip, just quickly post while the thought is in his/her mind, while others like to gently get the point acrossed- carefully chosing his/her words. Again, all interesting, folks.

Interpretation!
