Foreclosure from the perspective of a pro se defendant

This credible first-hand account from a defendant in a Florida foreclosure case--a person who has pretty evidently done his homework on the law--  paints a picture of a justice system where it does not really matter if you follow the written rules of the legal system, because there is another unwitten set of rules which the courts actually operate by which give the defendant virtually no chance to even be heard.

This is not about whether the defendants in these kind of situations are deadbeats or merely victims of a bad economy.  This is about the fact that big, powerful institutions such as banks and big law firms should have to follow the rules just like everyone else.  There should be a reward for following the rules, and a penalty for not doing so.  Otherwise, people will just continue to lose faith in, and respct for, the system.
