This was about doing an order FOR them. I searched and as I mentioned, there's only posts about their emails and "India stealing our work." I'm guessing they can't do a search at a county and called to ask if we could. Turned out to be an incomplete address and I found the owner is a machine shop/auto parts plant which would make this a commercial search. We emailed back to decline the order and it bounced back.
FNAS fits the description you gave of your client. They use ESS for everything which I didn't know when they first called. They badgered me to lower prices after telling me they were not happy with the turnaround of their current VA abstractor. I fell for the "Oooh, It's Fidelity!"
Then I learn they use ESS and we only get the crap searches. Then we were getting nasty emails to please not include our invoice yet they kept ordering searches at prices we didn't agree to and then claimed they were on auto-pay. Yeah, as in "we auto-pay you but we haven't yet." They only owe us a couple hundred but I got tired of the game of them demanding no invoice and claiming an auto-pay while sending us orders at prices we never agreed to. Now we get an order and we forward it to the guy who was so demanding about the invoicing & was so adamant about their auto-pay... while declining the order.
Alex is a great front man - friendly, charming and pleasant. He threatened to 'break up' with us if we kept including the invoices so I explained my position and sent him what hadn't been auto-paid. He was apologetic when I forwarded the unpaid invoices. We did get some money but still have some outstanding from March/April.
I'm not sure how FNF is but FNAS is exactly what you described.
