Charged Monday in Allen Superior Court, Buffy Sue Raptis, 33, of the 4700 block of Fall Brook Lane, is accused of taking $1,750 in kickbacks from Garretson for referring loan closings to Fort Wayne Title, Garretson’s company. Raptis is charged with fraud on a financial institution. If convicted, she faces between two and eight years in prison.

As part of her job, Raptis was prohibited from accepting cash or gifts. But in a series of e-mails between Garretson and Raptis, she wrote, “You said something about loot and paying me for title orders,” according to court documents.
Garretson responded, “Yes, I will take care of u on orders. Send them over,” according to court documents.
In another e-mail, Raptis and Garretson discussed an exchange of sexual favors and $500, according to court documents.
