$25-$30 is going price in some areas whereas $100 is in others. We never haggle with people but if someone is pricing themselves out of the competition, that's his/her choice. We don't ask anyone if they can do something for X-price when we go into a new area - we call around to get a feel of what's standard there and if you don't try to undercut people when you call them, there's nothing insulting in the conversation.
You absolutely have to know your area pricing. You can't stick to your price if you're double what everyone is in your county then complain you don't get the business (PLEASE - I'm not implying anyone here did that so put your rotten tomaters down). If all the people you see at the county everyday are priced higher, maybe you're too low. If everyone around you is lower, consider your volume versus your pricing.
I'm comparing apples to apples in this case (in other words, it's the same basic service/product - not online vs. "at the CH" or the Dead Beaten Horse that is offshore plant options for cheap).
