I am always reading about abstractors not getting paid.

Always demand payment, at time of order via credit card or paypal or check.

In all areas of our society, payment is made at time of order, get on the bus , put in the $

go to a restaurant, book a airplane reservation,hotel, car rental etc.

Other wise you will wait for your $, or worse not get paid at all,

The company ordering abstracts will simply goes to another abstractor, since most independant

abstractors are happy to get the work.

If everyone simply adhears to Payment at time of order

"Pay as you go, and never owe"  you will have no problems.

Keep in mind If someone accepts payment and does not deliver the product or service, it is Fraud, however if you deliver the product or service and don't get paid, it's a Civil matter, which in most cases would cost you more in legal fees to go after, than the amount

Also it might be a good idea for abstractors who get "stiffed" share the names of the non paying companys in this forum, so others can be aware.
