The key factor Robert is your point of how mortgages use to be 3 pg documents or even 1 or 2 page documents, if you go back to the 70's and 80's thats about what they were, easy to read and understand.
Seems like in the 90's they started getting longer. and longer.
I have never bought a home however my brother has and said "Sis you have no idea how fast a closing moves, its like a blur." My response was when I buy a house and if I take a mortgage my closing WILL NOT be a blur." Seems to me people shouldn't sign documents they do not understand, I sure wouldn't, as Amy said you are getting a loan for hundreds of thousands of dollars! And since its the soon to be homeowner's closing I think they have a right to control the proceedings, they have a right to ask questions and get answers.
Hopefully this gal will get the product of simplifed documents.
