The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
Please define uniform and how it does not apply here. I believe you are missing the bottom line Robert. We don't need more money, we own the printers that make it, we need to live within our means. Raising taxes is such an easy way out. It doesn't address the problem, it only perpetuates it. As I asked before, what comes next? Lower the upper class to 100k? How about in 20 more years, will upper class be 50k?
The job creators whom you claimed benefitted so disproportionately from the policies created weren't the only ones to benefit. I find it ironic you use the word policy in your arguement. Policy would dictate that the wealthy operated within the guidelines set forth, no? So we are going to punish those people who risked their own fortunes abiding by the policies they had no control over.
I would suggest once again, just like the border problem that we fix the bleeding before we put our hand out. Secure the borders, then talk about immigration reform. Analyze and reduce the spending before talking about dropping the hammer on the job creators out there.
As far as your assumption, Let's just say I pay more in taxes than the average person and I don't have a problem coughing up my 38%, but if this tax cut is allowed to expire I know 4 people who will no longer have a job at my company because I won't be able to afford them, and most likely because I'll just stop working.
