What you are suggesting, William, is ILLEGAL in most counties in the midwest. We are not allowed to take our own copies of documents. the documents and the digital images belong to the Register of Deeds -- thems da rules. There are a couple of counties in Michigan that won't even allow you to take your PHONES in to the vault because they don't want you taking pictures of the images/documents without paying for the privilege. I have one county where I have a signed contract with the Register of Deeds that says I will not re-sell any image. I can use them for individual orders where I am reimbursed for the copies, but I cannot SELL the image.
In other words, she knows that if she sells the images wholesale to a company set up for just that market, she will lose thousands or tens of thousands a year in revenues. I'm not at all opposed to that criteria and I understand the philosophy behind it.
