I agree. That should be the goal. We do our best to make our reports very thorough and as easy to read as possible. But, sometimes, the issues are just too complicated to explain that clearly in the search notes. Often times, we try to explain, but we also include a note "to call with any questions." And... we don't mind when they do call.
Basically, I guess I'm saying I don't mind clients calling for explanations. The calls that do bother me are the ones where they obviously don't have a clue about title work. For instance, the example I use most often is the client that called me to explain that our search was missing an amount for an easement! When I explained that easements don't have amounts, she asked how she was supposed to get a payoff. In my opinion, what she really needed was a different job!
