Thanks to all for your insight and experience. I think I'm pretty on-point and balanced when compared to how all of you handle it. I believe my abstractor should have gone further to explain what happened on the order he was working on, but I also think a company involved in this business -- especially in a place like Michigan -- should understand the necessity for mapping everything out themselves as a check to what the abstractor did. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who gets frustrated with clients who have no business working in this industry.
