A large vendor mgmt client  of ours called today asking us to lower our fees by $ 5.00

(Said they are requesting all thier abstractors to lower thier fee by $ 5.00 or they will be sending the searches to India for $11.00)

Sounded like a scare tatic to me....  I told them our fees were already at bottom line for them & reminded them that we now do alot of off line searches for them. Be smart abstractors --- they can't find a better client than you, so hold firm to your prices (which I am sure are very low already) India can't come close to your quality of work. Lowering your fee by $5.00 will not divert them if they are planning to send work to India, it will just mean less food on the table for your family & a better bottom line for them.
