To me the whole point about being in business for yourself is that you have to take the bitter with the sweet. If someone else undercuts you with cheapo current owner rundowns then you have to make the choice to match their price & work like a bastard to do it; or keep your prices where they are & hope that your level of service will help you retain your clients. It's sort of like riding a rollercoaster but without the fun.
I don't really care what other people charge for their services. I only care about what I charge & how much work I am willing to do (working after supper rather than going to the movies or whatever) & what kind of service I offer my clients. My real point is that I have worked in offices & made nothing & have had the horror of a mass layoff, effectively closing the office, with absolutely no notice, & then on the other side of the equation, I've had my best client call me & tell me that they were closing their office & so sorry we won't need your title services anymore. My personal feeling is that the latter was easier to deal with than the former.
