I noticed a few days ago that ALTA CEO Kurt Pfotenhauer is now Chairman of the Board of MERS. I know that Pfotenhauer has been on the Board for over a year, and of course ALTA is a founding member of MERS and has been involved in the organization from the start. But I can't find any press release or news item about Pfotenhauer becoming Chairman, and was unaware that he had that position until his name started showing up in recent MERS press releases.
Interested in what people think about ALTA's CEO being so involved in MERS. Is this a case of an impossible conflict of interest? Is it possibly a good thing in that Pfotenhauer, even though his background is banking and not title, probably by now has a better understanding of the title implications of MERS than most?
