In this profession and in the world of capitalism the first rule of engagement, obviously, is anything goes. What consumers then get to decide is if what best serves their needs. Competition is what this country is built on and it's good.
What you don't see, however, are doctors, accountants, or most skilled professionals, offering their services to the public for $ 20. I think most of us, in response to such a situation, would love to jump at those prices but would be wary of doing such, wondering about the qualifications of the person and quality of the service. While price and integrity are not necessarily married to each other, there can be conflict between the two.
People offering current owners at $ 20 do a great disservice to title searchers, the industry and show, with their pricing, that speed and volume are their driving motivation, not thoroughness and the best interests of the client or the borrower.
