I was in the post office today and got into a discussion of last week's fiasco in Washington. One of the participants in the discussion made an excellent suggestion. In addition to the impasse about tax increases, closing tax loop holes and reducing entitlements maybe the senators and congressmen should also take a 20% reduction in salary. God knows they certainly were not earning their pay last week.
