II note there was an article regarding this today, and wanted to respond.  Georgia has always been an "attorney state".  However, relative to an attorney acting as a notary or witness only in a closing has been frowned upon for quite some time.  See:  http://georgiasigningagents.com/Witness-only%20Signings.pdf
