To me it seems that it depends on what you consider "late at night".  Anytime before 8pm seem okay to me.  If you don't feel safe, then bring a friend or coworker or pepper spray. It is important to cater to the needs of the buyers as they are the ones that keep this game going, but you can do things to ensure your safety.
