Title agents in Maryland have been asked to weigh in on a proposed bill to allow for the collection of a seperate fee (proposed is $50.00) to be paid to the title insurer to cover against loss specifically related to delfacations.
This fee would be paid, in it's entirety, to the underwriter. It will not be factored as part of the "split" between underwriter and agent.
Do any of you have such a fee in your jurisdiction? If so, does the fee get passed on to the consumer? Please weigh in
