Whether or not you are required to register depends on whether you are "transacting business" in Ohio and, if you are, whether or not you are exempt. This is a very fact intensive inquiry that depends on the nature of your business and your contacts with Ohio.
I doubt most companies in our industry register as foreign corporations. But, it is a hard question to answer without a lot more information.
