Once again, I was put into a position of trying (without success) to educate a person speaking English as a second (or third) language. The frustration definitely comes through in my voice. Sighing a lot probably doesn't help either...nor the sound of teeth grinding. (Although I'm certain I could point to "bad phone connection" for that last part.)
I have some WONDERFUL clients, as I have stated frequently on this site. Intelligent, educated in our business, fun to talk to. New clients into the state just need education on how Michigan works and I'm very happy to do that. You can tell they understand and are just looking for how we do things here as opposed to how they do things there. No problem. I enjoy that.
I have others who tell me things like "We cannot accept this effective date" over and over and over again. OK, well, would you like me to physically threaten that county's Register of Deeds, or what? Would you like me to make up a date? And how 'bout the one who asks me how many copies there will be....BEFORE we've run the search? Not an estimate. Not a guess. A FIRM figure. How do you respond to that without starting the answer with "You're kidding, right?"
How do all of you deal with those who seem to be stupid on purpose, who refuse to learn or take your advice? I really need some suggestions as I'm already spending over $200/mth on blood pressure medication.
