Book 1, Page 1 is (naturally) a mortgage. No discharge recorded.
Thomas Dexter of Lyn, yeoman, by his deed dated (22 of October) 1639 hath mortgaged his farme in Lyn conteyning about ( ) acres with all his howles meadows and broken ( ) grounde thereon for 2 oxen & 2 bulls upon condition of payment to Symon Broadstreet of Ipswich ( ); to the first day of August then next following with a reservation upon the sale of the farme to give the said Dexter the over(??) above the debt and damages of the said (??).
The second document is even better (assuming you like old documents)
