Every heard the term "Zygocephalum?" Probably not. It is defined by Black's Law Dictionary as:
Zygocephalum: In the civil law, a measure or quantity of land. As much as a yoke of oxen could plow in a day.
So... how much land is that, exactly? Who knows! But I'd love to see someone use that term in a deed or sales contract! Can you imagine asking a surveyor to survey off a zygocephalum of land from the northeast corner of your farm?
Or try getting that legal description through the tax map office - "being a zygocephalum of land, more or less, but subject to all legal highways and rights of way of record."
Anyway... just thought it was a funny word and wanted to share!
Best,
Robert A. Franco
