I just got off the phone with Wayne Shutt of Eclipse Real Estate Services, and Revelations Abstract. It was a lengthy, indepth conversation, and I believe him to be sincere.
He's aware of us and of the conversation. I feel assured that we will ALL be paid, that it may not be right away, but that it will come. He had a very large account, who went out of business without paying him, and we all know what that's like. It's happened to me three times this year. He apologized for not calling people he's not yet paid. He's been working hard on the marketing side in order to be able to get everyone up to date. Personally, I think he's embarrassed and has been hoping to stall until he has the funds.
My experience has been that a client will not call us - ever, when they're going to skip out, and this conversation leads me to believe he's not. I, personally, can deal with a client who's trying to make things right, even if it takes a bit longer than it should to do it.
I'm hoping this makes some of you feel a little better.
