"If you can get the work done for $25 or $30, why are you still shopping?"
There seems to be a rash of "clients" who insist we lower prices and they throw out fees of $25 like rice at a wedding (or bird seed if you live in California where throwing of rice is probably illegal). Frankly, it's my opinion that these are just out right lies. Period. Seems to me that the clients who are saying it either have NO reputation (meaning they've just formed and that's never a good sign) or have a BAD reputation -- either for payment or for winning the "obnoxious client of the year award" (and you know who I'm talking about if you've ever done work for them).
CAN someone do searches at that price? Yes. If they're in India and the county is on line. OR if a service that also supplies cheap documents has their own database (sorry, but not a reliable source for thorough searches -- if I didn't have equalization, mapping and the treasurer to rely on in Michigan, I'd have had claims against me a decade ago).
Stand firm, but remain flexible with long-standing clients.
Just my two cents....
