This weekend we observe Memorial Day. Please notice I said that we observe the day. Don't celebrate. Observe. Please don't tell me Happy Memorial Day as it's not my day. Don't thank our Wounded Warriors for their sacrifice. We Veterans who survived have our own day and it's in November. It's also not about white sales, deeply discounted mattresses, vehicle sales or barbecues. This holiday is meant... to remember the men and women who sacrificed EVERYTHING while fighting for our country.
Take the time during your extended weekend to remember those who gambled with their lives and lost so that you didn't have to. Remember the thousands of men and women who won't be barbecuing with their families this weekend because they are no longer with us. Those are the ones this weekend is for. Pay honor to my brothers and sisters who paid the ultimate price for this country. Proudly hang your flag on your home. Replace a tattered flag of a local business that has been bothering you. Honor those brothers and sisters in some way.
