SUMMARY

Abstracting in on-line based county records search for residential properties in multiple states and counties across the United States.

We are looking for Abstractors. Potential candidates should be very organized with a strong attention to detail, be able to multi-task and have the ability to work independently. These are full time positions available. Any experience in the Title Insurance or Mortgage industry is a plus.

Judgment and/or liens research a must.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Determine the impact of any recorded instrument in the chain of title when an individual(s) owned the subject property such as deeds, liens, judgments, etc.

• Examine and verify title during the above time.

• Search real estate records.

• Compile lists of mortgages, contracts, and other instruments pertaining to titles by searching public records for judgments and liens.

• Search, analyze, and evaluate records relating to titles of homes, land, and buildings.

• Examine deeds, deeds of trust, liens, judgments, easements, and plats/maps to determine ownership, encumbrances, and to verify legal descriptions of property.

• Search public and private records

• Analyze chain of title and preparation of reports outlining title-related matters.

• There are times when only a Parcel ID # or APN # is available, other times you may receive a name and/or a subject address.

Role Specific Knowledge:

• Computer skills including working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and database software packages, internet applications and/or company specific computer applications. General knowledge of practices and procedures of the industry, department or specialized function.

• Attention to detail and maintains confidentiality.

• Good organizational skills, communication and analytical skills.

• Ability to work within stringent deadlines and works in team-oriented environment.

• Self-motivated

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; college degree is preferred1-2 yrs.

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and tasks requiring detail, concentration, and accuracy

• Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing

• Familiarity with DataTree is a plus (as this may be used)

• Computer proficiency and ability to data search is a must

 This would be a part-time position and can turn into a full-time position if wanted.
