The primary responsibility of the ABSTRACTOR position is to perform title searches.
The successful candidate for this position will be innovative in approach to locating property information and will be responsible for making a determination on what does and does not affect the title to a property or parcel of land.
This position operates in a fast-paced environment of tight deadlines and strict standards. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Searching deed, mortgage, property taxes and judgment records using various computer programs.
Updating title and judgment searches, obtaining copies of deeds, mortgages and judgments as necessary.
Your research will be located at the county courthouse where the property/ parcel of land is situated.
Minimum requirements include:
· Ability to work with minimal supervision, highly motivated individual and demonstrate appropriate initiative when making decisions.
· Willingness to learn and apply knowledge in title law.
· Excellent time-management, organizational & communication skills.
· Daily Travel within the State of Indiana.
o Your own transportation is mandatory.
High school diploma, abstracting experience or experience in related field (mortgage, real estate) strongly preferred but not required.
· Candidate will be considered self-employed / 1099.
· If you do not have the experience and are interested you have an opportunity to receive free on the job training; but will be required to file a non-compete.
· The training is Free but will train without pay.
o Training can last up to 3 months, depending upon the individual & if this type of job is for you?
Final candidate for this position will be required to pass pre-employment drug testing & a criminal back ground check.
