Mr. Franco,

As I said in my post, this WASNT a gripe.  Second I understand that NALTA and SOT are separate organizations but they work hand in hand, for the greater good.

My point was the greater good of ALL Title Examiners.  Also, as more and more title goes online the need for an "at the CH" Title Examiner is dying.  A lot of current owner searches can be done online.  I am not saying "perfect" searches or they should be.  Its a simple matter that the big Mortgage companies are willing to "hire" Indian companies to complete these searches.

The "Independent" examiner makes their "bread & butter" from local title agencies serving local banks and completing "marketable title" searches...

But everyone is feeling  the lack of work and lower rates.

So, there is plenty of other work and that cant be done online.  Just as we find ourselves doing Cell Tower or other work.

My point is there is ROW work, O&G & other mineral work,  Wind work, etc.

I have seen many posts here about greenhorne O&G folks in the court house.  Do you know why they are there?  In O& G, as an example, a Land Brokerage has to run say 500 leases covering 750 parcels in 90 days.  That is a lot of work in little time.  The send in a few experienced title examiners and then fill in with a dozen "trainees".  I once worked a project where the brokerage president has hired his "house sitter" to run Lease Title!  Seriously, no legal, real estate or title background...just a body on the ground...like canon fodder.

So, my point was, what if NALTEA (using SOT for Hiring) brought in these other industries so good Independent Title Examiners could fill in and make up work lost to online (the internet of everything). Imagine if when a Wind Brokerage, O&G Brokerage etc came into a county, instead of bringing green horn outsiders in, they hired local Independent Examiners....makes since to me. I made this post after being on another website with Title Examiners from another industry claiming their professional association didn't support them when work was down....If we were all under the same umbrella we would all have work by moving as a professional association from what one area to the next as it materialized.

Between India and Title plants work for the Independent Title Examiner is slipping, no matter how many years of experience or how qualified you are. So, this post was for "Independent Examiners". Not the folks in house for a law firm, Title Agency or Mortgage Company....Just the Independents, who see work slipping overseas or "in-house" due to title plants. (And even "at-home" as a MAJOR National Mortgage company contacted me about working from home online using their title plants, ...more work down the drain for Independents.

So, no gripe...just a suggestion....and as we are both from Ohio Mr. Franco, if I can help out in this matter, let me know...ill volunteer..
