Anyone know what happened to Chris Byron at Accurate Group? He's been my go to person for years, but when I called the other day I was told he's no longer with the company. Chris was very knowledgeable, helpful and always friendly to talk to. The person who I talked to, that told me Chris was no longer there, seemed rather irritated that I called, sounded agitated in answering my question, and promptly stopped sending me work.
Which got me to thinking. Why do so many title companies/vendor management companies act so angry/rude on the phone. Many of us (and them) are stressed out, overworked, underappreciated, and trying to make it just like everyone else. Kindness goes a long way. I always try to maintain a polite and friendly demeanor even during stressful situations. This is business, and it behooves you to be polite and friendly. Anger causes irrational and unwarranted decisions. We know you have rules and procedures you have to follow for your job. You can tell us the situation without acting like, well, like a jerk. Kindness does not equal weakness. Just saying.
