We can print the index here in Franklin county, but as it is a computer index by name, or by legal, the printout you get will depend on what information you put in on your inquiry.
The one nice feature we have is the audit trail for corrective indexing.  Any time a change is made to the index, the date of the change, the nature of the change, and who in the office made the change is logged.  This is not part of the general public record, but something easy to get from the administrators.  Another nice touch we have involves notifying the recorder of an indexing error.  You simply double-click on a blank area of the document, and a screen pops up allowing you to notify the recorder of a poorly imaged document, or to type in an indexing error.  The recorder checks the submissions every day and makes corrections as needed.
